John Gilliland started out on Monday in charge of the work train on the Midland that is delivering the new material between that place and Anderson. $350,000 is to be spent this season. The improvement include 40 miles of new steel, 35,000 ties and two bridges. Quite a change of tune from last year when all the talk was of junking the entire road. The junking work in the west end is about complete, and the junk crew will work next between Anderson and Muncie. Being cut off from Muncie shops, the Midland has started shops for repair work at Lebanon - typed by kbz.
